The Only Woman In The Room

In a nation as culturally rich as ours, it's surprising that only 1% of North American ad and marketing agencies are women-owned and directed. This includes within the Christian and non-profit sectors, where inclusivity should be at the forefront.

Ellen Graf-Martin, in the latest issue of Faith Today Magazine, doesn't just highlight these disparities; she shares her astute insights and offers a blueprint for driving meaningful change. Her approach reflects a heartfelt commitment to empowering every individual, especially women, to step into roles of leadership and influence.

Equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging are genuine needs, and often, we don't know where to start addressing them. Surprisingly, I regularly get asked how to diversify a team or charity board, which might seem odd (it did to me.) Thank you to Faith Today Magazine for inviting me to contribute my thoughts on this in their brand-new issue.

The reality is, sometimes getting started means looking at who is the "only one" in the room, making room and inviting more underrepresented people in. And it might be as simple as starting with women. (Don't stop there) - Ellen Graf-Martin

Reading Ellen's contribution is more than a learning experience; it's a call to action that resonates with our core values.

Let's draw inspiration from Ellen's wisdom in Faith Today and help cultivate a world where diversity and empowerment aren't aspirations but realities.
