WATERLOO – March 10, 2020 – I STILL BELIEVE, the latest film from Lionsgate, Kingdom Story Company and Mongrel Media will release in Canadian theatres this Friday, March 13. Canadians who attended advance screenings of the film have given I STILL BELIEVE an overall score of 9.09/10. The film is a highly-rated and highly-anticipated biopic about Grammy-nominated contemporary Christian music artist, Jeremy Camp, who has sold over 5 million albums. The film uniquely shows that God is at work in Hollywood from the star cast and the film’s ability to appeal to audiences across a variety of Christian traditions. I STILL BELIEVE is the faith-movie event of the year and will release in 70 theatres across Canada on March 13, 2020. Starring KJ Apa (“Riverdale”), Britt Robertson (A DOG’S PURPOSE), Canadian country singer Shania Twain, and Gary Sinise (FORREST GUMP, “CSI:NY”), I STILL BELIEVE presents a hopeful reminder that faith tested is faith worth sharing.
I STILL BELIEVE brings the inspiring love story of Jeremy and Melissa Camp to the big screen, showing the couple’s remarkable journey of love and loss and proving there is always hope in the midst of tragedy. As Jeremy (Apa) walked with Melissa (Robertson) through a difficult season, Melissa’s steadfast and unwavering faith inspired Jeremy to write the hit song, “I Still Believe.”In a recent interview with Canadian Christian television outlet, 100 Huntley Street, Jeremy Camp explained, "Movies do a whole different thing. It's a whole different experience and you can view the story a different way.... People that may not ever even step foot in a church...may come to see a movie and when they come to see the movie, they're going to see Jesus all throughout it and they're going to see God's love."The Erwin Brothers created both I CAN ONLY IMAGINE and I STILL BELIEVE with producer Kevin Downes (COURAGEOUS). “The DNA of our brand; it constantly comes back to a rush of hope. I think Jeremy and Melissa’s story speaks specifically to that,” noted Andrew Erwin. I STILL BELIEVE is executively produced by MercyMe lead vocalist and frontman Bart Millard and has received countless positive endorsements, including recording artist Michael W. Smith, who shared, “It’s really an incredible love story. I love redemption. I love how God can get in the middle of something and turn it for the good.”The strength of opening weekend attendance will determine how long the film stays in theatres.
