Meet Our Summer Students!
At Graf-Martin, Marketing for Good means investing in and training up the next generation of communicators. This summer we are excited to have three Summer Students working and learning alongside us, in a variety of marketing and communications activities. By the end of their summer placements they’ll have had the opportunity to work directly and alongside the clients that we serve, and how to identify and meet the unique marketing needs that not-for-profit and charitable organizations have. It is our hope that by getting this experience, they gain a greater passion for using excellent marketing skills for good!
Our first Summer Student is Aiden Thomson, who is supporting our team with a fairly major transition to a brand-new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system. This data-driven, detail-heavy work may be completely behind the scenes, but it impacts every client we serve! We are very grateful for his commitment to finding answers and doing this work with excellence!
Our second Summer Student is Emma Mischuk, supporting our team in a variety of ways as a Marketing and PR Assistant. So far, she’s helped us Livestream a Press Event, written social media content, shipped countless books, and done a million other things she’s been pulled into!
Emma is entering her fourth and final year of her Undergraduate Degree in Psychology with a Concentration in Biology. She attends Trinity Western University in BC but comes home to Kitchener each summer and Christmas break. This is Emma’s first time working professionally in the Marketing and Communications world but has done similar work as a volunteer for her church, New Song, and for school clubs. She enjoys supporting nonprofits and causes, helping people do good works is a high priority in her life. Emma loves playing volleyball, watching rom-coms, and searching for the best spot to watch sunsets. Welcome, Emma.
Last but not least, our third Summer Student is Michael Milne who is working as a Marketing Assistant. He’s come alongside our Marketing Manager, Dan, in a variety of ways.
Michael is a recent graduate of Business Marketing and Public Relations from Conestoga College and currently is in his final year in the Honours Communication Studies program at Wilfrid Laurier University. Michael has a passion for connecting and meeting new people, as well as taking on new challenges. Michael thrives in being able to do work that is meaningful – projects that will enable him to help make a positive impact and a difference in the lives of those around him. Michael comes to us from a background in communication, working in roles such as a Volunteer Coordinator for Laurier Students for Learning, Church Intern at Grace Christian Fellowship, and as a Marketing Camp; Communications Assistant at KidsAbility Foundation. On the side, Michael enjoys playing an active role in the Young Adult ministry at his local church (Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly), as well as traveling, dining at new restaurants, or watching a good movie on Netflix! Welcome, Michael!
We have enjoyed seeing these students grow and use their skills and to work with and for our clients, and we’re so glad to be part of their journey!
